The Ministry on Aging and Life Planning Committee meets once a month. The committee seeks a contact person in every parish (send names to Mayra Novo at Diocesan House, mnovo@ctdiocese.org or 800-842-0126). They have occasional conferences, and are working with parishes to help them each develop a library of resources. Some of the topics the group has tackled include: death; living arrangements for the aging; medical decisions; grieving; funerals; and wills & bequests. The committee organizes an anniversary celebration at Christ Church Cathedral for couples celebrating 50 or more years of marriage. It takes place every three years, in May, at Christ Church Cathedral. The diocesan bishop presides.
