The Diocese of Connecticut provides resources and support to individuals and parishes in the areas of children, youth and adult education and formation ministries. Workshops are regularly offered throughout the year in various parish locations. Regional teacher trainings are also held every spring and fall in three locations throughout the Diocese. Parish consultations can be arranged for specific needs by phone or in person. Newsletters are published which share upcoming events and new resources in education and formation. A resource center is also maintained, with a collection of curricula materials for all ages as well as support materials. This website also serves as a resource of comprehensive listings and links for educational ministries with children, youth, young adult and adult formation.

  • A Prayer for Teachers and Educators
    God the source of all our inspiration,
    Help us to understand ourselves, our world and you;
    And grant to each one of us who teaches and learns
    respect for others' inventiveness and questioning,
    and for ourselves commitment to truth.

    (adapted from the New Zealand Prayer Book)

  • What is Formation?
    It is one's life-long growth in Christ, understanding that we are always on a life-changing journey in our relationships with one another and in our encounter with the Living God. It involves Liturgy and Worship, Service and Witness, Instruction (Scripture and Tradition) in connection with Education (application to daily life). Formation occurs when the whole community is engaged together, as well as individually discerning who God calls us to be - not matter what our age is. It is holistic and experiential in nature - it is living out our Baptismal Covenant!
